Bulletin for Sunday, June 18, 2023 – Father’s Day

The past week has brought the end of school for many students and teachers. Summer “officially” begins this Wednesday, June 21st at 10:58 AM! We also are celebrating Father’s Day this Sunday, June 18th. A “Big Thank You” to all the dads and those who have acted as dads for others.
All are welcome to join us this Sunday, June 18th for our 10AM service. Rev. Larry Zimmerman is at the pulpit today.
Rev. Z’s message is titled, “Sowing Good Seeds”. Our scripture reading comes from Mark 4:26-29. This scripture tells about the spreading of seeds. Our families, offspring, and those lives we touch our words and actions are part of how we spread the seeds of God and our lives to others. Malen Hsu will be playing our music. Our service will be taped this week and posted later on Sunday on our church Facebook page.. Have a great weekend and enjoy the week ahead! Summer has officially begun! :)! Don’t forget Cherryfield Days next week. Our Church will be sponsoring a “Green Eggs and Ham” Breakfast on Saturday, June 24th from 7 AM to 9 AM. Online Worship for Sunday, June 11, 2023 – Scout Sunday

It has been a rainy but cool week. The days are still getting longer and school is winding down for the year. It has been a week of graduations, school music concerts, and people enjoying long days and the nice season outdoors.

Online Worship for Sunday, June 4, 2023 – Communion Sunday

What a roller coaster ride of temperatures! 86 degrees on Thursday June 1st and 43 degrees on Saturday! I guess our one day of summer in Maine is over. Well, probably not!
All are welcome to join us this Sunday, June 4th for our 10AM service. Rev. Larry Zimmerman is back at the pulpit today.
Rev. Z’s message is titled, “Treasure in a Clay Jar”. Our scripture reading comes from II Corinthians 4:5-10. It tells about letting the night out of the darkness. Hope you are enjoying this beautiful Memorial Day weekend! :)! It is the “traditional” beginning of summer. It feels like it with our warm temperatures, sunshine, and long days!

Our service this week will be both about Pentecost, the coming of the Holy Spirit and also Memorial Day. We will remember those who served in our armed forces and have passed away and those who came before us.
Rev. Henry’s message is titled, “Holy Chaos, Holy Conspiracy”. Our scripture reading comes from Acts 2: 11-21 and tell about the coming of the Holy Spirit and how people reacted to this. The First Congregational Church will be having a “Green Eggs and Ham” Breakfast on Saturday, June 24th from 7AM to 9AM. This goes along with “Story Book” theme of Cherryfield Days.” We will be offering eggs, pancakes, juices, and coffee and other menu items. See the poster below for further details.

Online Worship for Sunday, May 14, 2023 – Mother’s Day

Happy Second Sunday of May! A beautiful week has passed and it feels like spring. The temperatures have been warm, the trees are starting to show their leaves, and Mother’s Day is here! A Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms and those who have acted as a mom to others out there.
All are welcome to attend our service this Sunday at 10AM. We are located on the River Road in Cherryfield, Maine. Rev. Zimmerman will be away this week. Two great moms will be leading our service this week. They are Katie Parker and Alice Duston. Our scripture reading comes from John 15:5-12. Our message “A Salute to Mom’s” will be read by Alice Duston. Katie and Alice will possibly offer some “motherly wisdom” of their own.

Happy First Sunday of May! A beautiful weekend with temperatures in the low 70s! Also sunshine and warmth after a cloudy and dreary beginning of the week. The trees are starting to bud and leaves are starting to come out. Lawns are beginning to need to be mowed.
All are welcome to attend our service this Sunday at 10AM. We are located on the River Road in Cherryfield, Maine. Rev. Zimmerman at our pulpit this Sunday Our scripture reading comes from I Peter 2:4-10. Rev. Z’s message is titled, “You Can Do It”. This being the first Sunday of the month, Communion will also be served.

Happy Last Sunday of April! There are more signs of Spring with flowers, green grass, and trees starting to bud. We are up to 15 hours of daylight and have gaine about 7 hours worth since late December. May 1st is on Monday! Happy May Day. Hoping you get your May Basket!
